BUSH
-eddz wanted me to write about today… -
at around 10:30am Brian calls me to make sure im ready and at his house by 12:00. So I roll over and go back to sleep, knock waking back up until 11:30 like a dumbass. So I was late big deal. They went ahead and went to Wal-Mart and left me a note.
“ due to your tardiness we regret to inform you that we have
left without you maybe this will connivance you to be more prompt
in future trips.
Yours truly,
The Gang
P.S. we went to Wal-Mart, Wait here!
We didn’t end up leaving until 12:30, which isn’t so bad. So off to Indianapolis!! The ride up there was awesome. Went very smooth, there weren’t any fights, and there was plenty of room. Just as we roll into Louisville we made this sign that says “ Show Us Your Tits” and taped to the passenger window. We got nothin’. Until right before our exit at Indianapolis where these 2 hot chicks drive by our left side all smilin’ and singin’ then Brian grabs the sign and shows it to them. The start laughin’ and sayin’ something but were all like “ come on whoo!!!” they nod their head no and say sorry. Until right before our exit the chick semi flashes us but we couldn’t see!!
It just started hitting as we pulled into the town that we were going to see BUSH. We played all the CDs on the way up Sixteen Stone, Razorblade Suitcase, The Science of Things, Golden State… I think all of us were getting pumped.
The venue was really easy to find, it was right off the exit jut like Map Quest said. The Murat, that’s the name of it. It was really nice. Air-conditioned and everything. We took our time going in. we didn’t’ know the first band (didn’t really care) and we checked out the merchandise. They didn’t’ really have much so I just got a button, I think Brian actually bought a shirt, but you know Brian.
Audiovent. They were the opening band. It was Brandon Boyd’s (lead singer for Incubus) brother’s band. Eddz and I joked around calling him “ Dillon Boyd “ he looked just like Brandon, and the band sounded like Incubus, but a lot worse.
Enough of that shitty band. There wasn’t a second band. I saw the crew bring out the drums, had a big British Flag on em’ and Bush’s logo right above that, then Gavin’s guitar was being tuned so I knew that Bush was next. So we started moving up front. We were maybe 3 rows back sometimes 2 at times. Fucking Nigel wasn’t there, his wife was having his child back in England so he couldn’t make it to the show, which was kind of a downer. Then the lights dimmed, and everyone started to scream, Nigel’s “replacement” , Dave, and Robin come out, and they start playing. Gavin then comes in playing the guitar. It was awesome. Opened with Solutions off their new CD.
The show freaking rocked!! There were a few songs I wish they had played that they didn’t, but they fucking rocked it. My clothes were soaked with sweat. There were a few times I looked over at eddy it was just a great moment singing at the top of our lungs to a band we had been listening to for about 6 years.
Just as I think the show is over Gavin is up talking. “ Have a fucking awesome summer, watch out for the police, and remember The Little Things They Kill” leading right into Little Things it was awesome. He jumped down into the crowd and everyone went crazy, kids falling over ( me included I lost my shoe for a second but dove in and retrieved it) pushing and shoving. Perfect last song.
Everything Zen, Comedown, Little Things, Speed Kills, Where Is My Head, Solutions, Machine Head R. E . M cover of Fire, Chemicals Between Us, Glycerine, fuck it every song rocked it out. I can’t remember all of em’ I was looking forward to Comedown a lot, im glad they played it.
So after all the rockin’ out is done we all find eachther and started headin’ out. We across the street to the YMCA because it looked like something was going on, but nothing… then back to The Murat, to see if we can meet the band. As we come around the back theres a big line of people who are trying to do the same thing we are, but Security made everyone leave. So we just chill on the sidewalk (which is public propriety) wait for about 30 minutes and start deciding to go back to the car and go home. Then Brian says “ we drove too far to not meet the band”, he was right. Our waiting paid off because just a few minutes later who comes walking out of the back??! Audiovent! HELL NO IM JOKING, BUSH!! Gavin comes out and everyone runs over there. We stood there talking to him for a few minutes, got our tickets signed, a few pictures, then Dave and Robin came out too!! Both of them were really nice, also got our stubs signed and got pics. Said our good-byes again to Gavin and left with smiles on our faces!!
Its such a great feeling to meet someone who you idol or look up to. Whether its a Pro. Skateboarder or a Rock Band from Great Britain.
I can’t wait to see those pics.
Its 6:11 am right now we didn’t get back into town until 5:00 or so… so if this entry is a little redundant or there’s a lot of grammar or just doesn’t’ flow well that’s why.
That was my day off. I will now get some rest and go to work, yay! Next Friday is when Jimmy Eat World Plays Nashville, that show is going to rock. Thank god I got a ticket.
